Thousands of learners across Uganda have been given additional time to register for the 2026 national examinations after the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) extended the deadline for normal registration.
The extension applies to candidates preparing to sit the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations later this year.
According to UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo, the registration exercise is already underway nationwide, with schools expected to complete the process before the revised deadline.
The examinations body announced that normal registration will now close on June 30, 2026, giving schools and newly accredited examination centres additional time to submit candidate details.
The extension is intended to accommodate institutions that recently received accreditation and require extra time to process registration requirements. Here Are The Guidelines for Registration for PLE, UCE, UACE Candidates as Deadline Draws Near
Despite the extension, UNEB has warned schools, parents, and candidates against waiting until the last minute.
